Event Description:
We’re bringing the past, present and future together at the May GMM! Sue Massie and Tony Libri from the Abraham Lincoln Association will take us back to 1844, the year Abraham Lincoln purchased his home. The Lincoln’s added on to the Greek revival style cottage by adding a second story and transforming a six-room cottage into a twelve-room house that was “superior in appearance”.
This summer the SAHBA will assist in building a replica of the original cottage and we’ll talk about how you can be a part of history for years to come with this project! Our student members, who are the future of our industry, will be in attendance too and will be involved in the Cottage Project. Past Presidents will also be in attendance.
